How to get to the Amalfi Coast

The nearest airport is Naples, about 1 to 1.5 hours by car or private transfer to Positano, Amalfi or Ravello; ferries also run in season from Naples, Sorrento and Salerno. The coast road is spectacular but slow and winding, so we arrange private transfers and boat pick-ups so your partner never handles the logistics.

Permits, boats & timing

Boats, beach clubs and clifftop tables book out fast from May to September, and famous viewpoints are best early or late. We handle reservations, any access permissions and coordination so everything runs to the minute. Real-world numbers & warnings: a private proposal boat off Positano runs roughly €420–500+ before extras; villa terraces in Ravello charge photo fees that surprise many couples (we include them in the quote); and the coast is far more vertical than photos suggest — hundreds of stairs, so we always plan routes and timings around comfort and shoes, and sea conditions always get a plan B.

Bringing the ring & travelling

Carry the ring in your hand luggage, never checked, in a slim case. EU arrivals have nothing to declare; travellers from outside the EU should note customs allowances on high-value goods. A discreet tip: carry the day-bag yourself so you can keep the ring close on the boat without suspicion.
